Broad development background across applications such as financial accounting, systems programming, electronic funds transfer, engineering and now financial services.

Over 5 years.

I took a contract position and liked the company, so elected to switch to a permanent one.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?

The variety. I am constantly learning about different application areas and technologies and working with different people.

I have been encouraged to suggest and attend any courses that are relevant to my job or the direction in which I want to go. Fidelity supports continuous learning and professional certification in all disciplines for all levels of employee.

Q: What else can you tell us about ‘life’ at Fidelity?

Fidelity is a huge organisation and there is a lot of scope for moving around between different business, technical and geographical areas. It offers exposure to the latest technologies and methodologies, especially because it is not as restricted in its technology investment as a publicly traded company would be.
